1. Who we are
This website is run by Inès Morel Cuisine SASU (“Inès Morel”, “I”, “we”, “us”), a company registered in France under number 000 000 000, at 12 rue de l’Exemple, 06600 Antibes, France. Inès Morel cooks dinners, chef’s tables and chalet and villa weeks in clients’ homes. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the French Data Protection Act and, for clients in London, the UK GDPR, we are the controller of the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us about anything in this policy at hello@inesmorel.example or by post at the address above.
2. The data we collect
We collect what we need to answer you, write your menu and cook it safely.
When you send the enquiry form: your name, your email address or phone number, the date, the number of guests, where the dinner takes place, the format you’re interested in, and anything you write in the free field.
When we prepare your dinner: the address of the house, access details (gate code, parking), photos of your kitchen if you send them, your guests’ first names if you want them printed on the menu cards, and each guest’s allergies, intolerances and diets.
When you pay a deposit or an invoice: your name, billing address, the amount and the date. Payment is by bank transfer; nothing is paid on this website.
When you message us on WhatsApp or by email: the content of the conversation and your number or address.
When you visit the site: technical data such as pages viewed, browser, device type and approximate location derived from your network address, only through the cookies described in the Cookie Policy, and only with your consent where consent is required.
Health data. Allergies, intolerances, coeliac disease and pregnancy are health data. We use them only to cook safely for the guest concerned, we keep them attached to that dinner only, and we delete them with it (section 5). You are never required to give them, but we can’t adapt a course we don’t know about.
Guests’ data. If you give us the names and allergies of your guests, please tell them you’re doing so and point them to this policy.
3. Why we use it, and on what basis
Answering your enquiry, sending a menu and a quote — Steps taken at your request before a contract.
Cooking the dinner or the week you booked — Performance of a contract.
Adapting the menu to an allergy, intolerance or medical diet — Your explicit consent (or your guest’s), given when you write it in the form or tell us.
Invoicing, deposits and accounting — Legal obligation (French commercial and tax law).
Keeping a short record of past dinners to answer you if you book again — Our legitimate interest in knowing our returning clients; you can object at any time.
Publishing a photo or a host’s note on the site — Your consent, asked separately, and withdrawable at any time.
Measuring visits to the site — Your consent, through the cookie banner.
We do not use your data for automated decisions or profiling, and we don’t send newsletters unless you ask to receive one.
4. Who sees it
Your data is seen by Inès Morel and, for dinners of 12 guests or more, by the cook and floor staff named on your quote, who receive only what they need for that evening (date, address, timings, allergies). It is processed by service providers acting on our instructions:
the website host and form provider (Framer B.V.);
our email and messaging tools;
our bank, for transfers;
our accountant, for invoices only.
Each one is bound by a data processing agreement. Some of them may process data outside the European Economic Area; when they do, the transfer is covered by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision. We never sell or rent your data.
5. How long we keep it
Enquiries that don’t become a booking: 12 months after our last exchange, then deleted.
Bookings, menus and guest lists: 3 years after the dinner, so we can cook for you again without asking everything twice.
Allergies and other health data: deleted 30 days after the dinner, unless you ask us in writing to keep them for your next booking.
Invoices and payment records: 10 years, as required by French accounting law.
Photos and host notes published with consent: until you withdraw your consent.
Cookie and analytics data: see the Cookie Policy (maximum 13 months).
6. Your rights
You can ask to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw any consent at any time without affecting what was done before. You can also give instructions about what happens to your data after your death (French law). Write to hello@inesmorel.example; we reply within one month. If you think we haven’t respected your rights, you can complain to the CNIL (www.cnil.fr) or, in the UK, the ICO (ico.org.uk).
7. Security
Access to enquiries and guest lists is limited to the people in section 4, with individual accounts and two-factor authentication where the tool allows it. Printed menu cards with guests’ names stay at the dinner or are shredded. If a breach affects your data and is likely to put you at risk, we tell you and the authority within the legal deadlines.
8. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our tools or our practices change. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change affects how we use data you’ve already given us, we tell you by email before it applies.
